Little did I know I was on the path of the American dream.I was born in Jacksonville FL. in 1969. My Dad was a back up singer for the Imperials a Gospel group. Gospel music was a staple till I was say 14-15 years old before the Rock-n-Roll snuck in.
At the age of 2 my family moved to Mi. My Dads Grandfather and that side of the family in Gladwin Mi. were farmers. We bounced around Mi and out to Ut. and back to Holland Mi. Holland was big part of my life. My first job at 12 years old, was on a commercial chicken farm and picking blueberries. I was introduced to Game Cocks on my friends blueberry farm. His brother had the most beautiful roosters tethered to barrels around one of the fields. We put boxing gloves on an old one eyed rooster and another and boxed them out... I was hooked. It would not be till "96" till I would have my own.
Between 9th and 10th grade we move to Clearwater FL. After highschool and JC I worked in the enertainment buisness. From that to a Ostrich farmer (traded some Ostrich for some of my first Game Fowl) and worked in a slaughter house. After the bottom fell out of Ostrichs I went to work for corprate America.
A big fan of music and after every one asking me "Where In The Hell Is Palatka?" I decided it was time to write a song about it. A mix of Cracker Bluegrass&Country. Hell Billy if you like, about my life in Palatka FL. The Americana story that can apply to every little town in America. This is a true story of underground FL country.
With the help of Tampa Rick and Planet T Music Publishing. We made it happen! I'm rolling the dice on living the American Dream! For all of you that doubted me, or thought the song idea sucked, you can have my "number one salute." (Southern Style)
